Year 4 Bonus Pastor Science Visit
Year 4 enjoyed a visit from some Year 9 students, who act as Stem Ambassadors, from Bonus Pastor College.
The children took part in a carousel of fun activities. They learnt about using absorbent materials in a magic trick, Alka Seltzer producing carbon dioxide and causing a small explosion, putting water in a balloon prevents it popping when held over a candle and much more. The students from Bonus Pastor acted as great role models and gave clear explanations about the experiments. Hopefully, they have encouraged our children to embrace a love of science and helped to further develop their enquiry skills. Our children enjoyed the session:
- Jules: "I liked everything, especially the balloon experiment"
- Wallis: "I enjoyed the magic trick with the cups"
- Ciara: "I enjoyed the mug and fork trick. I thought the mug would fall, but the momentum caused it to be wound in the string"
