Year 1 went to Leeds Castle in support of their topic this term: ‘Monsters, Dragons and Castles’.

The trip offered exciting opportunities for the children to be actively involved in a workshop that will retell the story of 'The Swan Princess', a Russian fairy tale. The workshop contributed greatly to developing children's storytelling skills, language and ideas for creating their own stories.

The children also had time to explore Leeds Castle itself and its rich history, as well as the beautiful grounds, which offer a variety of trails to follow, a castle adventure playground and a maze which led to an underground grotto. 

For many, the Narnia trip through the castle was a highlight of the day, a fun-packed experience for adults and children alike.
