Year 5/6 Girls & Boys Football Festival
Some of our year 5/6 girls and boys had their first football festival of the year, and what a night it was!! The boys went to the final, and won 5-0 against St Bart's. The girls ended as runners-up after a tough final game and brought home silver medals.
The girls started their tournament in fantastic fashion, winning their game 3-0 with a super hat-trick from Etta our Captain for the evening. This was followed by more fantastic team goals. The girls won 2 games, drew 2 games and lost 2 games.
It was a great night of football from our fantastic girls team. The level of football, sportsmanship, resilience and passion of each and every player was amazing. They really did give their all in each of their games.
The girls ended as runners-up after a tough final game and brought home silver medals, which was well deserved!
The boys started equally well, lead by Jack -our Captain for the evening, with fantastic play and great goals. They won their first game 6-0.
The boys went to the final, making it through on a 9 goal difference, and they won the final 5-0 against St Bart's.
The level of play, maturity, sportsmanship was impeccable; when our boys knew the other team who didn't get through to the final were upset, our boys, off their own backs, went over to them and clapped them and shook their hands. It really did make me and the other coach so proud of them. They handled it in such a mature way!
I would also like to thank Gabriel's dad and Louisa's mum for all their help. We couldn't have done it without you! I am proud of both teams, they really did show resilience, determination and never gave up. I know that some of the games were a little tricky! You really did deserve to bring something home from your games, and you certainly kept our Kilmorie motto going: "Start hard, start fast!
