Year 2 visited Kew Gardens

To help the children to consolidate their learning about plants, habitats and the rainforests, year 2 visited Kew Gardens. The children had opportunities to see a range of different plants, and experience what a rainforest feels and looks like.

Quotes from our children:

Millie - "My favourite part of Kew Gardens was the tree top walk because we went really high and it was just so fun to do!"

Matilda - "I loved the huge water lilies because they are so strong you can sit on them."

Elliott - "My favourite part was when me and my friends made a sand castle called pine cone castle."

Ada - "My favourite part of Kew Gardens was the palm house so I could learn how hot it was in the rainforest. It was so hot on the top layer but it was less hot on the bottom."

Isabel - "My favourite bit was the treetop walk because it felt a bit like you were an animal in the emergent later."

Will - "My favourite bit was going into the Palm House because of the lovely smell and because of how hot it was."
